JISA gets Tastee $10-m sponsorship
TASTEE Jamaica on Wednesday became official sponsors of the Jamaica Independent Schools’ Association (JISA) National Prep and High Schools’ football and netball competitions with a three-year agreement valued at $10 million.
Known for its strong focus on youth development, particularly through the avenue of sports, Tastee, in continuing its commitment in this area, has adopted the competitions which are set to begin in October.
The three-year sponsorship will also see the patty company contributing products also.
Marketing manager at Tastee, Jamal Tugman, indicated that their partnership with JISA will ensure the development of values of fair play and sportsmanship in the students.
“We are truly happy to be partnering with JISA, as this brand of competition can unearth the next generation of Raheem Sterlings’ and Jhaniele Fowlers’,” he said.
Ryan Foster, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Tastee, noted that the company has had a long history of giving back to the community and has in recent times focused on sports as an area of high impact.
In addition to that, Foster said that they are proud to be associated with these competitions (Alberga Cup and Henriques Cup) and this three-year agreement can only better and renew their “commitment” to sports and youth development.
“Tastee believes that sports are a critical driver of national development and we will continue to facilitate the emergence of world-class athletes through our sponsorship of competitions such as the ones put on by JISA.
“It’s no accident that we have positioned our corporate social responsibility initiatives in line with sports; doing this, Tastee believes, will reaffirm the value of sports as an institution for socio-economic change,” said Foster.
Tastee, dubbed the home of Jamaica’s tastiest patties, has over the years donated more than 300 dozen patties monthly and supports numerous charities and non-government organisations, which is a part of its thriving sponsorship and donation initiatives that gives back over $15 million each year in community services.
