Angeline is certainly bubbling now
SHE must have been a major disappointment to her owner and trainer during her pursuit of glory in the longer Classic races earlier this year.
Yet Bubbling Angeline, the three-year-old chestnut filly by Blue Pepsi Lodge — Miss Angeline has regrouped under the guidance of Philip Feanny and is now one of the leading sprinters in the land, bar none. Her forte is indeed sprinting but Bubbling Angeline’s performance on Saturday in Open Allowance company over six and a half furlongs (1,300 metres) for the inaugural staging of the race was something
to behold.
Ridden by now regular partner Percy Williams, the filly was challenged from the start by seasoned campaigners before saying enough is enough, moving away with utter disdain just before entering the straight, eventually winning by over six lengths. It was a game- changing performance which is defining Bubbling Angeline as a special racehorse and one which must have made up for her lack of success in the Classic races.
With only the top ‘A-1’ Class looming in her sights, Bubbling Angeline at three represents a good addition to racing’s already depleted stock of top-class runners.
