Taxi driver wins car
WHEN Winston Henry attended Ninja Man’s Taxi Operator’s Appreciation Day held at Turtle River Park in St Ann recently, little did he know he would be driving away with the grand prize.
Henry, a licensed taxi driver, walked away with a 2014 Nissan AD Wagon, which he also intends to put to work.
“I went to the event with hope of winning the talent contest, but after I did the audition I did not end up in the final rounds of the contest,” said Henry, who adding he was an aspiring singer in the 1980s, but was unable to get his break. Instead of chasing his dream, Henry said he began driving taxi to make a living.
“I was there watching the show, when I remembered that I could win the gate prize if I dropped my ticket stub in a box at the gate. I went back outside and got the stub out my car and was allowed to put the ticket stub in the box,” he told Auto.
The father of two said he was elated when female deejay Macka Diamond announced my name as the gate prize winner later in the show.
“I still can’t believe I have won this car,” said Henry.
