Revving up for ITN
THE grounds of the National Stadium in St Andrew will play host to the aftermarket performance community’s biggest event, Import Tuner Night (ITN): Street Tuner Invasion tomorrow. The event is set to start at 9:00 pm.
“ITN is basically the Sting and Reggae Sumfest of the Jamaican import scene. Fans can expect a bigger production this year. New for 2014 is the chance for one lucky fan to win the ‘Skunked Out’ EG Honda Civic,” Nick Lue of Skunk Nation told Auto.
Each paid ticket holder will automatically be entered in the raffle to be the highlight of night, which the grand prize is a red 1994 EG5 Honda Civic hatchback, lightly modified by Skunk Nation.
Now in its third year, ITN 2014 will build on previous events by offering up a scheduled 200 of the island’s best-modified cars for display. From modern Japanese performance heroes to old-school classics, ITN intends to have them all present and will hand out trophies in eight categories, Best Nissan, Honda, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Subaru, European and Old School ride. New for 2014 is best female owned ride.
“The event is not competition based. We’re just rewarding participants for their support and effort that has gone into their build. Three judges will score and narrow it down to only one winner for each category,” Lue explained.
Backing up the cars on display is a solid entertainment package. The well-received Miss Skunk Nation pageant returns from last year with 11 lovely ladies vying for the 2014 title.
“It should be another close competition. Rochelle Hendricks won our Facebook Fan Favourite contest so we’ll see how that translates,” he said.
There will be performances by Denyque, G-Whizz and a host of others. Music duties through the night are to be handled by the trio of DJ Kevin, DJ Smoke and DJ Sanjay.
