Wright-Good writes good book
FRIDAY, July 4 was a day of celebration for Jamaican motivational author Joan Wright-Good as she launched her second book, You Are Different For A Reason; Maximize Your Difference at Knutsford Court Hotel in New Kingston.
“I was very significant to launch this book in Jamaica, because this is where my heart is and you can never forget where you’re coming from,” Wright-Good told the Jamaica Observer.
The launch saw performances from gospel artistes such as Sean Coore and JCee, while Laud Ministry provided a dance number for the audience.
“This was a very powerful launch,” she said, clearly moved by the occasion.
You Are Different For A Reason; Maximize Your Difference was launched in Florida in May, on the heels of the positive reception her last book 2009’s From Brokenness to Victory: The Price of My Breakthrough, which chronicled her life from a her troubled childhood to separation from then husband Calvin ‘Prodigal Son’ Whilby.
“It wasn’t hard to write this second book as I was inspired by the feedback from the first book,” Wright-Good said.
The 155-page book offers encouragement, motivation, and empowers readers as created from her personal growth.
“I think the book will do well in Jamaica because it contains information everyone can use and relate to,” she added.
You Are Different For A Reason; Maximize Your Difference is available locally through CMart Limited and Barnes and Noble in the United States. It can be purchased worldwide on amazon.com and as an eBook.
Wright-Good is looking into launching the book in the United Kingdom and Canada in the coming months.
