Zagga to headline shrimp fest
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Up-and-coming roots-rock reggae singer Zagga is among the performers billed to headline the concert section of the third Caribbean Shrimp Festival at Whitter Village, Ironshore, St James on Sunday, July 13.
The My Destination singer has promised to deliver a positive but entertaining set suited for the entire family.
“I just want to give the patrons their money’s worth. They should come expecting good entertainment, good vibes, positive music and a great show,” Zagga said.
It should not be too difficult for the St Ann native to connect with the family audience, with selections such as Remember the Days, Never Give Up, Change, My Baby Forever, and more.
Those in attendance at the media launch of the shrimp festival at Iberostar Hotels and Resorts Monday evening got a glimpse of what to expect from the entertainer with his performance of My Destination.
Other performers billed for the event include veterans Terror Fabulous, Frisco Kid and Lukie D. Cheeko is also expected to make his mark.
In addition to the music, an executive chef cook-off is expected to add flavour to the event which will also feature flat screen television sets for soccer fans to view the finals of the World Cup now on in Brazil.
“Patrons will not miss out on the game as we are going to put up flat screen television sets around the venue during the day,” Jackie Norman, executive director of Caribbean Shrimp Festival, noted.
She further underscored that the organising team has pulled out all the stops to ensure that this year’s event is better than the two previous stagings.
“Ladies and gentlemen, this year’s Caribbean Shrimp Festival is going to be super. The family show will also include several activities for children and giveaways throughout the day,” Norman noted.
The event, which will highlight a wide range of shrimp cuisine, will also feature a mini circus.
Norman saluted all the sponsors that are onboard, including the two major sponsors, FR&A and CPJ.
