Messi on target as Argentina defeat Bosnia 2-1
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Lionel Messi satisfied his numerous fans Sunday when he scored his second ever World Cup goal after a delightful dribble leaving two Bosnian defenders in a bundle to put Argentina up 2-0.
However Bosnia, in a competitive showing, clawed one back in the 84th when Vedad Ibisevic hit the ball through the legs of the Argentina custodian.
Early in the first half Argentina went ahead with an own goal but the Bosnians remained competitive, quite often putting their more heralded opponents under pressure.
After a lacklustre showing in the first stanza of the Group F encounter Argentina lifted their game in the second half, showing glimpses of their expected fluent passing game.
The other teams in Group F are Nigeria and Iran
