Brazil, Croatia 1-1 at half-time
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Brazil in the 11th minute scored the first goal in the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the second in the 29th minute to make the score 1-1 at half-time in the opening match against Croatia now under way in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Marcelo misreading a cross in defence touched the ball into the net to register an own goal and silence the noisy home crowd early on.
But the Brazilians hit back with Neymar placing a shot wide of the Croatian custodian and into the bottom left hand corner.
