Day 4: Kiwis 96-5 at lunch, lead Windies by 342
KINGSTON, Jamaica – West Indies continued to fight back on Wednesday’s day four, but trail New Zealand by a massive 342 runs at lunch in the first Test at Sabina Park in Kingston.
After dismissing West Indies on Tuesday for 262, the visitors, batting a second time after declaring on 508-7 in the first innings, reached 96-5 at lunch.

New Zealand resumed on 14-2, but pacer Jerome Taylor grabbed the wickets of night watchman Ish Sodhi (four) and Ross Taylor (zero) off consecutive balls. Off-spinner Shane Shillingford accounted for the other wicket when he bowled New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum, who made 17.
The not out batsmen are Tom Latham and James Neesham, who are on 51 and 14, respectively.
Jerome Taylor has so far taken 3-13.
