Reno return to winning ways
FROME, Westmoreland — Reno FC rebounded from Wednesday’s loss to Barbican to beat Jamalco FC 3-0 at Frome on Sunday as the first round of the Jamaica Football Federation All Island Premier League play-off ended.
Craig Foster scored two goals for Reno FC as they have now won both games at home and are tied in the lead with Barbican FC on six points each. Two of the four teams in the play-off will qualify for the Red Stripe Premier League next season
On Sunday, Jamalco FC finished the game with 10 players after Roshane Sharpe was sent off in the 77th minute.
Foster has been on fire the past month and has scored five times in the play-offs after scoring five goals in the Western Confederation Super League finals. He scored twice in Reno FC’s 4-0 win over Axum in the opening game and in their 2-1 loss to Barbican in Kingston on Wednesday.
On Sunday, Foster gave Reno the lead in the 38th minute from the penalty spot as the home team led at half-time.
Foster added a second goal in the 75th minute before Melvin Blair clinched the deal with a third in the 88th minute.
The return round gets underway tomorrow with Reno playing away to Axum in St Mary, while Barbican will host Jamalco.
