Unbeaten teams hunt more wins in Intermediate Netball League
FOUR unbeaten teams are expected to continue on their winning ways as action in the 2014 Best Dressed Chicken (Jamaica Broilers) Intermediate Netball League continues at the Leila Robinson Courts today.
The preliminary round of the Intermediate League will come to an end today with the top two teams from each of the four zones advancing to the quarter-finals knockout format.
Unbeaten teams are Ken’s Wild Flower from Zone One, SKIBO ‘A’ from Zone Two, Hampshire ‘A’ from Zone Three and Waulgrovians ‘B’ from Zone Four.
Ken’s Wild Flower are on top in Zone One with 12 points from four wins from as many starts, while Boulevard Baptist are also on 12 points, but from five games, including four wins and a defeat. Third are Liguanea United ‘A’ with nine points from four games with three wins and a loss.
Zone Two leaders is SKIBO ‘A’ with 13 points coming from four wins and a draw from five starts, while Link United are in second position with nine points from four outings with three wins and a defeat, while OMEGA ‘A’ have nine points from three wins and a loss.
Leading Zone Three are Hampshire ‘A’ with maximum 15 points from five matches, Maxfield Park ‘A’ come next with 12 points from six games, including four wins and a defeat, Molynes United ‘B’ and Leiba Gardens are locked in third with nine points each from five outings, inclusive of three wins and a loss.
Zone Four is being led by Waulgrovians ‘B’ with a maximum 18 points from six games, Rivoli United ‘A’ second on 10 points from three wins and two defeats, SPEG have nine points from four games, three wins and a defeat, while Ebony Strikers ‘B’ also have nine points from five matches, three wins and two losses.
Meanwhile, there will be a number of interesting and crucial matches scheduled for today, especially for teams in second and third places who are seeking berths in the quarter-finals knockout.
Today’s games will see Global United ‘A’ vs Westchester; Link United vs Red Challenge; Police ‘B’ vs Queen’s Park at 2:00 pm.
At 3:10 pm, Hampshire ‘A’ vs Molynes United ‘B’; Sports and Games vs Leiba Gardens; Maverly vs Jamaica Defence Force.
And in 4:20 pm match-ups, SPEG will take on Rivoli United ‘B’; Ocho Rios Magics vs Ken’s Wild Flower; Waulgrovians ‘B’ go up against Hagley Park ‘A”.
