Reno edge Granville 2-1
FROME, Westmoreland — Craig Foster scored twice as favourites Reno FC took a 2-1 lead over Granville United after Sunday’s first leg of the Jamaica Football Federation Captain’s Bakery and Grill/Charley’s JB Rum Western Confederation Super League final at Frome in Westmoreland.
Reno FC, who are seeking to be the first club to win the midseason and overall title, led 2-0 before a late goal from David Gillard handed the St James club a lifeline heading into Sunday’s return leg at Jarrett Park.
Foster, who scored 10 goals in the regular season, gave Reno the lead in the 30th minute then doubled their lead in the 52nd minute.
Gillard, who joined the Granville United team late in the season, scored in the 85th minute to cut Reno FC’s lead to a single goal.
