Jamaica take on T&T in Contender Series
For the eighth bout of the Wray and Nephew Contender boxing series’ fourth season, which will be held today, Trinidadian Boxer Prince Lee Isidore of Team Caribbean (Yellow Team) will face off against Kevin Hylton of Team Jamaica (Green Team).
Isidore is 28 years old and weighs 145 pounds. The boxer has a record of 12 wins, two losses, and a draw. His Jamaican counterpart Hylton is 35 years old and weighs 147 pounds. His record stands at four wins and three losses.
Speaking on the upcoming contest, Andrew Boland, coach of Team Caribbean, said: “To my knowledge, Prince is a very good defensive fighter and offensive puncher. For this fight, go early and don’t blink. The knockout that happened in the last fight could be repeated. I expect the boxers to determine the winner, and not the judges.”
Carl Grant, Team Jamaica’s coach, responded: “From what I’ve heard, Prince can hold his own. We are going into the fight to do our best Wednesday Night.”
The Wray and Nephew Contender is aired live each Wednesday on TVJ at 9:30 pm and fans can also catch the action live at the Chinese Benevolent Association (CBA). The prize money for this season’s winner is $2,000,000, with the runner-up receiving $500,000.
