Sunshine Girls to sail with Seven Seas
SEVEN Seas, through its Multibionta products and Joint-care Max brands, will sponsor Jamaica’s national senior netballers to the tune of $800,000, it was announced at a press conference at the Leila Robinson Courts on Monday.
The sponsorship, which is in the form of cash and products, is aimed at assisting the Sunshine Girls in their preparation for the Commonwealth Games later this year.
The girls were offered $400,000 cash, Seven Seas’ products valued at $200,000 and doctors seminars worth another $200,000.
Speaking at the media briefing, Seven Seas’ Ingrid Hayman said that she was very excited to announce her company’s sponsorship of the Sunshine Girls.
“I am very pleased and excited to be here today (Monday) with these lovely girls, when we look at the amount of support that these girls are getting, it showed how successful they are and so I am pleased to announce our sponsorship,” she said.
Hayman revealed that it was one of the Netball Jamaica billboards that first grabbed her company’s interest.
“Let me tell you how this partnership was formed. We always wanted to be a part of sport, but couldn’t decide which sport to choose. One day Deborah saw a billboard sign that says Sunshine Girls and that click right away because our products are geared towards women.
“This is an ideal partnership for the girls, as the products will help to strenghten and maintain their joints as these girls always play on hard surfaces. And so for every purchase of our products we will donate two per cent of the sales to the Sunshine Girls and this will run to December,” she added.
Meanwhile, president of Netball Jamaica Marva Bernard thanked Seven Seas for its support.
“We are really grateful for this sponsorship, it could not have come at a better time as we are in training for the Commonwealth Games. The ladies will require all the assistance they can get to alleviate the pounding and stress on the joints that outdoor surfaces cause and Seven Seas was the right catch.
“I just want to encourage every Jamaican to buy these products so that more money can contribute to our girls,” said Bernard.
