Four enjoy unbeaten run in Minor League
LIGUANEA United ‘B’, SKIBO ‘B’, Global United ‘B’, Pembroke Hall and Titchfield remain unbeaten in the 2014 Supreme Ventures Limited (SVL)/Netball Jamaica (NJ) Minor League competition after six rounds of action at the Leila Robinson Courts.
The Liguanea ‘B’ aggregation are currently runaway leaders in Zone One with 18 points from six straight wins. Jointly in second place are Alpha ‘B’ with nine points from six games and Upper Camp also on nine points, but from five outings.
SKIBO and Global United ‘B’ are joint leaders in Zone Two with 15 points from five matches, and with a defeat each. Payne Land are third with 12 points from five starts.
Pembroke Hall are the unbeaten leaders with 18 points from six consecutive wins from as many outings in Zone Three, followed by Titchfield, also unbeaten with 15 points from five outings. Southboro are in third place with nine points from five games.
Maxfield Park ‘B’ and De La Vega are joint leaders in Zone Four on 12 points each from five matches as both lost a game each. Molynes United ‘C’ are in third position with nine points from five matches.
The teams are hunting the top-two places in their respective zones hoping to qualify for the quarter-finals knockout stage with only three rounds remaining.
Meanwhile, results of matches at the Leila Robinson Courts last Saturday saw Breaton United ‘B’ beat Maxfield Park ‘B’ 28-22; Liguanea United ‘B’ outscored Alpha ‘B’ 21-14; Pembroke Hall defeated Fresh Approach 22-13.
The competition continues on Saturday with Rollington Town vs Hampshire ‘B’; Southboro vs Edna Manley Strikers; Omega ‘C’ vs Boulevard Baptist ‘B’; EXED Saints vs Top Mountain Flames. All games start at 1:00 pm.
In 2:00pm encounters, De La Vega go up against Molynes ‘C’; Jetsetters ‘B’ vs Titchfield; Department of Correctional Services vs Upper Camp; Arnett Gardens vs Drewsland ‘A’.
Also, Alexander Strikers ‘B’ vs Hagley Park ‘B’; Progressive Strikers vs Hampshire ‘C’; Drewsland ‘A’ vs Payne Avenue. Match time 3:00 pm.
There is one 4:10 pm match which will see Genesis facing Tantrum.
