Reggae Girlz take on St Bess U17 men’s team today
JAMAICA’S senior Reggae Girlz will begin their campaign for World Cup qualification on June 18 against St Lucia in the Dominican Republic.
Jamaica will be participating in the inaugural CFU Women’s Caribbean Cup, which will begin with first-round qualifications between May and June. The final round will be held in Trinidad and Tobago, August 17-27.
This tournament will serve as the official qualification tournament in the Caribbean Zone for both the CONCACAF Women’s Gold Cup and the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Jamaica along with host Dominican Republic, St Lucia and Anguilla have been placed in Group Five of the first round.
Jamaica’s squad, which has been called back to camp, will play a practice game against St Elizabeth men’s Under-17 team today at the St Elizabeth Technical High School to continue preparing for the tournament.
The JFF technical staff is also using these games to look at Under-17 players as the qualifiers for the CFU Men’s Under-17 tournament will be held in the coming months.
