More than 80 serve off in Guardian Life Open Junior Tennis Series
THE 14th staging of the annual Guardian Life Open Junior Tennis Series culminated at the Liguanea Club after two days of intense competition.
This weekend’s tournament saw over 80 players competing in the 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U, and 18U categories.
The Guardian Life Open Junior Tennis Series has maintained a high level of participation as the boys and girls look forward to these events. Each match played is critical to the development of the juniors and by extension the sport.
Over the years, Guardian Life has contributed to the development of junior players across the island. Through their tag line “Looking After Life” they continue to believe in this venture and to a greater extent the participants in these tournaments.
According to Glendon Gordon, vice-president Individual Life, Guardian Life, it was a good tournament and reaffirmed his company’s commitment to the continued support of the sport.
“Sponsorship is the lifeblood of the sport, and it is key that we continue to give these players the opportunity to develop and showcase their talent in these tournaments,” Gordon said.
Points were awarded at the end of the tournament based on the national junior ranking system.
The second tournament in the series, the Guardian Life All Girls’ Junior Tennis Championship, serves off on September 27 and ends the following day.
