HAGUE, Trelawny — THE entertainment segment of this year’s staging of the Hague Agricultural and Livestock Show got underway on Tuesday night with rich spiritual performances for a number of gospel acts.

The two-day event climaxed yesterday.

The night’s highlight was the performance of closing act, Prodigal Son, who despite carrying an injury, hopped onto the stage, took a seat on a stool, and thrilled his fans.

The popular gospel artiste, who informed the patrons that he had “a slipped disc in my back”, lived up to his promise that he will not “short-change” them.

He had the small audience rocking to his vast repertoire of hits, including, Good Can’t Done, Push On, Bongo Town and Put your Bible in the Air.

During his performance he occasionally rose from his seat for short spells, as he belted out his lyrics.

His performance followed a very energetic and inspiring one from Kevin Downswell, who had the patrons dancing and shouting.

Downswell delivered selections such as If It’s Not You, You Make Me Stronger, God is Moving and March Out and more to the delight of the gospel lovers.

Female gospel artiste Deneese Wright was also well received, as she delivered Oh How He Love Me, Out in the Cold and I Love You.

Earlier, Ryan Berry also scored with a string of songs foe which he is known.

Three Manchester High School students also performed well.
