Rural ISSA/Securipro TT semi-finals serves off today
The rural semi-finals of the ISSA/Securipro Table Tennis competition will be played today at GC Foster College, starting at 9:00 am.
Second-placed teams from across the island in each category will play-off in a round-robin format, with the top performer(s) qualifying to join first-placed finishers in the finals. First-placed teams in all zones are already in the finals.
Semi-finalists in boys’ Under-19 are Manchester, Munro, Dinthill and Port Antonio. The top two finishers will join defending champions Belair, Glenumir, St Mary High and Titchfield, in the finals.
Girls’ Under-19 semi-finalists are deCarteret, St Mary High and newcomers Westwood. The winner will join defending champions Manchester, Cross Keys, Dinthill, St Hilda’s and Titchfield in the finals.
In Under-16 boys, the semi-finalists are St Mary High, Manchester and Cross Keys. The top two finishers will join defending champions Titchfield, Dinthill, Glenmuir and Munro in the finals.
Girls’ Under-16 semi-finalists are Cross Keys and two newcomers, Westwood and McGarth. The winner will progress to join defending champions Titchfield, St Hilda’s, Dinthill, Manchester and Belair in the finals.
The six teams in the finals for each category will be divided into two groups of three, with round-robin play in each group, and group winners contesting the final. Runners-up in the two groups will play-off for third-place trophies. These will be played at GC Foster on Tuesday, March 18.
