Half Moon charity golf tourney tees off Saturday
ROSE HALL, St James — Participants in Saturday’s Half Moon Hotel’s charity golf tournament will be playing for a number of attractive prizes, as they assist in raising funds for the Cornwall Regional Hospital in Montego Bay.
All proceeds from the tournament will go towards purchasing a well-needed ventilator for the hospital.
The tournament that will be played on a two-man better ball format, is also being held as part of the celebrations to commemorate the luxury hotel’s 50th anniversary.
Eighteen teams will take part in the tournament that starts at 10:00am with a shot gun start and individual prizes will be awarded on medal play, according to a release from the organisers.
The winner will take home the Half Moon Golf Course 50th anniversary trophy, while other prizes will include a catamaran cruise for two from Island Routes, a golf cart from Tropicars and several weekend stays, dinners and spa treatments from Half Moon as well as two return tickets from Kingston to London courtesy of British Airways.
“At Half Moon, we believe we are only as successful as the community in which we operate,” said Aram Zerunian, the resort’s general manager.
“The Cornwall Regional Hospital provides service to hundreds of persons daily and this one ventilator can go a far way and save the lives of many, so we really appreciate all our partners who’ve joined us for this initiative,” he argued.
