Get The Look (GTL): Why will makeover’s never go out of style?
Daniel De La Torre (DDLT): Make-up, in its own right, is fashion-forward and always a very fun way to experiment with different looks and styles. Women love this and find it very addictive! It’s even better if you have a good artist to deliver exactly what you’ve been looking for but may have had difficulty articulating. Once everything about the makeover comes together, you automatically have yourself a new you and a new look.
GTL: From the point of view of an artist, what’s the key to a successful makeover?
DDLT: Find the right foundation coverage and always listen to the client. Everybody has a different identity and a unique look — never deny the client that in favour of your own tastes or prevailing trends.
GTL: Can ma keover s be done for the wrong rea sons ?
DDLT: There’s never a bad reason for a makeover! Everyone is entitled to a new look for whatever the occasion may be.
GTL: What should concerned friends of the potential make over recipient consider before launching a full – scale intervention?
DDLT: Find out their skin type — do they have combination, dry or normal skin? And be aware of their tastes and such titbits as their beauty inspirations or crushes and favourite colours. Then pass this information on to the artist so that they’ll be better prepared for the session.
GTL: In lieu of the extreme makeover, what’s a quick and easy way to rev amp one’ s look in the bathroom or vanity mirror?
DDLT: I say, always go straight for the eyes to make them look refreshed. Full eyebrows never go out of style and lots of mascara is never too much for those bright eyes.
GTL: Who have been your favourite celebrity clients? I would definitely say Eva Longoria and Beyoncé. Both are so easy-going, charming and sweet. It was an amazing experience and I will never forget the honour of working with them.
GTL: Which celeb always keeps you guessing in the beaut y department ?
DDLT: I love, love, love Lady Gaga’s make-up. She’s always changing for the better. She certainly is, in my opinion, a girl who isn’t afraid of changing or overachieving.
