Reno beat Tomorrow’s People again

MONTEGO BAY, St James — Mid-season champions Reno FC got the second round of the Jamaica Football Federation Captain’s Bakery and Grill/Charley’s JB Rum Western Confederation Super League with a 2-1 win over Tomorrow’s People at Jarrett Park on Monday in a repeat of the mid-season final.
Tevin Daley and Afiba Chambers scored for Reno as they beat the St James club for the third straight time this season after wins in the first round and in last weekend’s mid-season decider.
The win also kept Reno at the top of the points table with 26, as Savannah SC moved past Tomorrow’s People into second place on 24 points after a 3-1 win over Montego Bay Boys’ Club at Frome on Sunday.
Meanwhile, yesterday, defending champions Wadadah FC edged Sandals Whitehouse 2-1 at the UDC field.
Daley and Chambers staked Reno to a 2-0 lead before Curtis Palmer scored late in the game to give the home team a lifeline.
Also on Monday, Oniel Pringle scored twice in the first half to give Granville United a 3-0 win over Norwood Strikers at the UDC field in Montego Bay.
Pringle scored in the 11th and 43rd minutes, while Andrew Allen scored a third in the 90th minute as Granville United moved to 20 points and into fourth place.
On Sunday, goals from Ron Daley in the 35th minute, Nichodie Haughton in the 55th minute, and Davion Thorpe in the 74th minute gave Savannah SC a 3-0 lead before Kalusha Kotes scored with two minutes to go for Montego Bay Boys’ Club.
Village United also got the second round off to a good start with a 1-0 win over Holland United with Aldaine Grant scoring the winning goal in the 68th minute.
In another game played in Lucea, home team Lucea FC and Duanvale played out a 1-1 draw. Oshane Brown gave Duanvale the lead in the 14th minute, while Omar Davis levelled for Lucea from the penalty spot in the 25th minute.
