Ireland restrict Windies to 116 in T20
KINGSTON, Jamaica — West Indies were restricted to a disappointing 116 for 8 in Wednesday’s opening Twenty20 International against minnows Ireland at Sabina Park.
Chris Gayle top scored with 18 as several batsmen got starts but failed to push on to bigger scores.
Medium pacer Alex Cusack took 2-17 off four overs for Ireland.
In reply, Ireland were 52-3 off 10 overs in search of 117 needed to defeat their more illustrious opponents.
Wrist spinner Samuel Badree has taken 2-18 off his four overs.
Earlier, the West Indies won the toss and elected to bat on a shiny-looking surface.
