XLCR to begin defence of schoolgirl football title
EXCELSIOR High, who won their first schoolgirl title last year, will begin the defence of their title when they bow into action today in the Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA) Schoolgirl League, which kicks off without a corporate sponsor.
Excelsior will be playing in Zone F with Bridgeport, Campion College, Jonathan Grant, Tivoli and Immaculate Conception.
Last year’s beaten finalist St Jago High will start their season in Zone G where they will meet Camperdown, Cumberland, Penwood and St Mary’s College.
Five-time champions Lennon High will be hunting their sixth title when their season kicks off in Zone C where they will face stiff competition from Christiana High, Garvey Maceo High and Mile Gully High.
Wolmer’s Girls are slated to take part in Zone E, alongside Ardenne High, Edith Dalton James, Inswood High, Spanish Town High and Tarrant High.
Zone A will see Montego Bay High facing off with Muschett High, Rusea’s High, Spot Valley High, St James High and Westwood High.
Zone B consists of St Elizabeth Technical, Black River High, DeCarteret College and Lacovia High, while Ewarton High, McGrath High, Tacius Golding and Old Harbour High will do battle in Zone D.
