WINNING Manning and DaCosta Cup stalwarts, Junior Flemmings of Jamaica College and St Elizabeth Technical’s Khesanio Hall, are both on their way to bigger and better things after an enterprising season in schoolboy football.

The two outstanding strikers copped three individual awards each in the same category at the Inter-secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA) awards ceremony held at the Terra Nova Hotel yesterday.

Flemmings, who led his Jamaica College team to the Manning Cup and Olivier Shield title last year, copped the Leading Goal-scorer (22 goals), the Golden Boot and Most Valuable Player (MVP) awards.

The 18-year-old says he is satisfied with the outcome but is doubtful about being a part of the team next season.

“It is a great feeling… a splendid performance, not only from me but from my teammates as well because if it wasn’t for them, the coach and the management staff this wouldn’t be possible.

Hall, on the other hand, has been offered scholarships from a number of overseas universities, but is yet to decide which one he will accept.

“It feels good to be recognised and I am really happy for all the awards I received here today (yesterday). I got offers from New Mexico, High Point and more, it is just for me to choose which one,” said the talented 19-year-old.

Like Flemmings, he also won the Leading Goal-scorer, (29 goals), Golden Boot and the MVP titles in leading his school to the DaCosta Cup and Ben Francis successes.

Jamaica College, who racked up 60 goals for the season and only gave up eight, were named Most Attacking and Defensive Team for the Manning Cup, while St Elizabeth Technical with 69 goals and six the DaCosta Cup equivalent. St Elizabeth Technical, along with Jamaica College and Excelsior High, were all awarded cheques of $50,000 by sponsors Wisynco for being voted the teams with the Best Goal Celebrations.

St George’s College (176 points) were named Most Disciplined Team, with Excelsior High (161 points) and St Elizabeth Technical (155), second and third, respectively.
