KC sound warning at Milo Western Relays
CATHERINE HALL, St James — Kingston College showed they will be hard to beat at next weekend’s Gibson Relays in Kingston after a master-class showing at Saturday’s 36th staging of the Milo Western Relays held at the Montego Bay Sports Complex.
Of the 15 records that were broken, five new marks were set by Kingston College’s relay team with the Class Two 4x100m and 4x200m stealing the spotlight with marks of 40.84 seconds and 1:28.12 seconds. respectively. The latter beinng faster than the Class One winning time.
Kingston College swept the high school boys 4x100m races, all in record times.
The University of Technology men’s team were double winners taking the clubs/institutions 4x100m and 4x20m races, while newcomers Cameron’s Blazers introduced themselves to the Montego Bay crowd by winning the men’s 4x400m relay.
In one of the most exciting finishes, St Elizabeth Technical’s Okeen Williams took his team from third place with a well-timed run to pass the anchor leg runners from Munro College and Kingston College to win the high school boys 4x400m in 3:16.71.
Edwin Allen won the girls 4x400m in 3:41.73, well ahead of Holmwood Technical’s 3:47.75.
