Glenmuir drub Knox College in rural table tennis
GLENMUIR drubbed newcomers Knox College by 5-0 in both boys’ Under-19 and boys’ Under-16 ISSA/Securipro Table Tennis rural competition double-header at Knox on Thursday.
In the urban duels, former champions Meadowbrook clipped St Andrew 3-2 in girls’ Under-19, defending champions Campion edged Wolmer’s 3-2 in girls’ Under-16, and in a clash of former champions, Ardenne stopped Immaculate 3-1 in girls’ Under-16.
The Glenmuir/Knox boys’ matches were the first return matches in both the Under-19 and Under-16 categories, and the points standings are identical for both categories.
Glenmuir lead in both with maximum eight points, followed by Manchester on five points, Knox, three points, and deCarteret, two points.
The three urban girls matches completed the first-round fixtures in their respective groups and the points standings are as follows.
Immaculate lead girls’ Under-19 Group Two with maximum four points, ahead of Meadowbrook, three points, and St Andrew, two points.
In girls’ Under-16 Group One, defending champions Campion have maximum six points, followed by Hillel, five points, Wolmer’s, four points, and Ascot, three points.
And in girls’ Under-16 Group Two, Ardenne are on top with maximum six points, ahead of Immaculate, five points, newcomers St Mary’s College, four points, and St Andrew, three points.
In each group the top two finishers will progress to semi-finals.
