Masters of the night
CONSTANT Spring Masters made off with the major haul of five trophies at the 2013 KSAMLA Masters League football competition presentations of awards at the PCJ Auditorium, New Kingston, on Thursday night.
They copped the Champion Of Champion, FA Cup and League Championship trophies, while Carl Sewell was voted Coach of the Year and Neville Lyn Manager of the Year.
Meanwhile, Barbican Masters’ Everton Mattis won the Golden Boot award.
Santos Masters took the runners-up title in the Champion of Champion Trophy, Barbican Masters the FA Cup and Pelican Masters the League. Pelican Masters also took away the mid-season champions title, while Barbican Masters were the runners-up.
In the individual awards section, Christian Ambassador Masters took the Most Disciplined Team Trophy, Rohan Rousseau the Most Valuable Player Trophy, Real Mona the Most Improved Team Trophy, while Donovan Muir was the Referee of the Year and Frederick Thomas Match Inspector of the Year.
In the competition’s 27th year where 27 teams took part, one more than last season, it was the first time the competition was not sponsored and it will go down in its history as the best-ever run and the most disciplined.
