Portmore, BT share spoils at Collie Smith Drive
PORTMORE United held Boys’ Town to a 0-0 draw in a second-round Red Stripe Premier League clash at Collie Smith Drive yesterday.
The game that each team set out to win promised much in midfield but, unhappily, entering the final third their forwards choked and watched the possibility of a win squandered.
Portmore United went closer of the two sparing partners as they missed two glorious second-half chances to take full points.
With neither team giving any quarters in the opening half, Portmore made three second-half changes that gave them a slight edge. However, Damian Binns and Rosario Harriott, with clear scoring chances late in the game, failed to accept the opportunities which left the former champions to remain second from bottom of the 12-team standing on 21 points.
