St JFA/Sandals league gets going tomorrow
MONTEGO BAY, St James — The St James Football Association’s Sandals/ATL/Honda Senior League gets underway tomorrow afternoon at Jarrett Park with a triple- header that will see the return of former champions Catherine Hall FC and Seba FC in action.
Catherine Hall FC returns to the local parish league after four years in the Western Confederation Super League, and will open the season against Montego Bay United FC in the opening game set for 3:00pm, followed by Reggae Youths against former winners Fogo United starting at 5:00pm, with Salt Spring United FC and Seba FC facing off in the featured game set to start at 7:00pm.
Seba FC played under the name North Gully Ambassadors last season before a name change and will be hoping to at least match last season’s success when they made it to the finals, losing to Montego Bay Boys Club.
Twelve teams including promoted Lilliput Rovers and Seaview FC will take part in the competition that will see the champions earn promotion to the Western Confederation Super League next season.
The teams will play in two zones of six teams each and will compete against each other twice before a third round, where they will play against teams from the other zone once, with the top four teams advancing to the semi-finals.
Catherine Hall, Fogo United, Reggae Youths, Montego Bay United FC, Melbourne FC and Seaview FC are in Zone A, while Seba FC, Little Miami, Salt Spring United, Violet Kickers, Revelations FC and Lilliput Rovers will play in Zone B.
Lilliput Rovers and Little Miami will meet at Wyndham on Monday, while Revelations and Violet Kickers will face off at the UDC Field, and on Tuesday, Seaview meets Melbourne FC at Flanker.
