Montego Bay United, Boys’ Town clash
TUCKER, St James — MONTEGO Bay United (MBU) will defend an unbeaten home record against Boys’ Town when the two teams meet in the Red Stripe Premier League second-round game at WesPow Park on Sunday, starting at 3:00 pm.
In this their third season in the league, Montego Bay United have never lost to Boys’ Town at home in three previous meetings, winning twice and drawing the other game.
Montego Bay United boast one of the best home records in the league so far, trailing only leaders Harbour View and Sporting Central Academy, and will hope they can continue their good run at WesPow Park this season.
They have won four of their seven games played at home so far, drawing two, while giving up just two goals, one while losing to Portmore United.
Harbour View, on the other hand, have won seven of their eight games at home, losing only to Montego Bay United, while Sporting Central has won five and lost three games at home.
Montego Bay United are presently in second place in the points tables on 27 points, six behind Harbour View, but eight more than mid- tables Boys’ Town, and will have a point to prove after giving up a two goal lead to settle for a draw in the first meeting earlier this season.
There are some concerns, however, for the home team, as they have cooled off somewhat after a torrid opening run, and have scored just four goals in their last seven outings, compared to 13 goals in their previous seven games.
The trio of Dino Williams, Lesly St Fleur and Allan Ottey have combined for 13 of the team’s 17 goals scored so far, and are expected to lead the charge against a Boys’ Town team that has conceded 17 goals so far.
Boys’ Town have not fared well away from home either, winning just two of eight games played.
