GRANVILLE, St James — Leaders Reno FC will be seeking their first three-game-win streak in the Jamaica Football Federation Captain’s Bakery and Grill/Charleys JB Rums Western Confederation Super League today when they travel to Sam Sharpe Teachers’ College to face former champions Granville United in a first round game starting at 3:00 pm.

Reno FC, who are leaders with 13 points after five games, are coming off a big 3-0 whipping of impressive newcomers Montego Bay Boys’ Club at Frome on Sunday and face a Granville United team going through yet another slow early season with just one win in five games, and are presently in sixth position with six points.

Granville have conce-ded the least number of goals so far, two, which came in an upset 1-2 loss to second from bottom Duanvale FC at Sam Sharpe TC on Sunday.

Second-placed Holland United, two points adrift of Reno FC, will host Montego Bay Boys’ Club at Elliston Wakeland and will hope for a win to stay in touch with the leaders.

Holland United beat last-placed Lucea FC 2-1 on Sunday and will hope for back-to-back wins that would keep them ahead of Savannah SC, who will host Village United at Frome.

Savannah snapped a three-game winless streak on Sunday to beat Norwood Strikers and replaced them in third position and will come up against a Village team coming off their first win of the season, a 4-1 beating of defending champions Wadadah FC on Sunday.

Devron Clarke, who scored twice on Sunday for Village, will hope to lead the charge in yet another winning effort today as he seeks to pull the former Premier League contenders out of the lower half of the points table.

Village United are in 10th position with four points, just ahead of Duanvale FC on goal difference.

Wadadah have won just once this season so far and will have their hands full in their St James derby against Norwood Strikers at the UDC field today.

Both teams are coming off losses, but Norwood, who are in fourth place, five spots ahead of the champions, have shown the better form so far this season and should start favourites to win.

Tomorrow’s People, last season’s mid-season champions, are also struggling for consistency and are in eighth place, tied with Wadadah on five points, but with a better goal difference and should get a well needed win when they take on promoted Lucea FC, the only winless team left in the competition, when they meet at Jarrett Park.

In the other game scheduled, Duanvale, who should be buoyed by their win on Sunday, will host Sandals Whitehouse, who won their first game away from home on Sunday when they clipped Tomorrow’s People 1-0 in Montego Bay.
