Cavalier stall runaway Harbour View train
CHAMPIONS Harbour View were held to a 1-1 draw by Cavalier and saw their lead atop of the Red Stripe Premier League reduced to four points.
James Durrant had given Harbour View a 22nd-minute lead, firing home from a McKaulley Tulloch cutback, but five minutes later Girvan Brown picked Clifton Waugh’s pocket and slotted home to level the scores.
The result meant Harbour View’s seven-game winning streak has been halted which saw them inched to 30 points from 14 games.
Cavalier, who matched Harbour View stride for stride, moved to 18 points and provisionally stayed in seventh spot.
But things could have been different for Cavalier had Claudious Blackburn been more clinical in front of goal. A teasing right-sided cross from Alvaranga fell nicely into his path at the six-yard box, but he hesitated too long and was closed down. It was a miss that denied Cavalier a chance to really climb up the tables, but instead they remain 12 points adrift of the leader.
