12-y-o in historic romp in junior tennis tourney
DADRIAN Lewis of Wolmer’s Girls won an historic treble at the recently concluded Jamaica Caribbean Broilers Table Tennis Junior Classic championship in Spanish Town on Saturday.
The 12-year-old second form student is one for the future as she copped all three respective age group titles in the female division with minimum fuss.
Lewis first won the Under-13 and Under-15 titles before returning a little later to claim the Under-18 division, beating Britanny Murray in four sets. She won 11-8, 4-11, 11-6, and 11-3.
Anthony Brown won the Male Division in four sets defeating Sadike Hinds. Brown, who was very composed throughout, won the opening set 11-9, then lost 7-11 before rallying to win the next two sets 11-4, 11-4.
Hinds had earlier captured the Under-15 division.
