TIVOLI Gardens and Sporting Central Academy battled to drab 0-0 stalemate in their Red Stripe Premier League game at the Edward Seaga Stadium yesterday and lost crucial points to the leaders in the process.

Tivoli Gardens, who started the day in third spot on 14 points, inched to 15 points from 10 games, but slipped to fourth and could drop further when the remainder of the games are completed.

It wasn’t that bad for Sporting Central Academy who gained a spot to ninth with 11 points.

In a game lacking creativity and few chances, the visiting Sporting Central got the better clear-cut chances and might be cursing their luck that they failed to walk away with three valuable away points.

The home team, missing Keammar Daley and Navion Boyd to injuries, lacked verve and have earned the wrath of head coach Glendon ‘Admiral’ Bailey.

“Of course I am disappointed. You playing at home you need three points and when you play at home you play to win and we gone two games now and only get two points,” said Bailey.

“We just have to start make some people who want to play, play. They might not be as talented as those playing, but what I saw today is absolutely rubbish. People are walking on the football field and you can’t play at this level and some match you want to play and some you don’t,” Bailey lamented.

But for Linval Wilson Snr, coach of Clarendon-based Sporting Central, the away point earn is just fine for him.

“We did well today knowing that we are coming out of a little spot and we couldn’t afford to lose to Tivoli this afternoon,” said Wilson Snr.

“The guys took the fight to Tivoli today and we could have won the game, but nevertheless, a point is better than no point,” he added.

Meanwhile Cavalier climbed into third spot with 16 points following their 1-0 win over Rivoli United at the Stadium East field. Claudious Blackburn netted the winner in the 67th minute.

At Effortville Community Centre, home team Humble Lion and Montego Bay United battled to a 0-0 draw, while champions Harbour View whipped August Town 3-0 at the UWI Bowl.

Montego Bay United moved to 20 points and are joined at the top by Harbour View, while Humble Lion slipped to fifth with 15 points and August Town down to 10th on 10 points.
