Pepperpot – Reopening old sores
People are saying that the P J Patterson lawsuit against Nationwide Radio has reopened old sores dating back to the time of Mr Cliff Hughes’ reporting on Mr Patterson when he was forced to resign as finance minister.
The merger in the making
Wait for it. The two big ones have quietly begun talks about a merger. It’s going to be bigger than the Wisynco-Trade Winds deal. People have it to say that the merger is not so much about money but because of the marriage which brought the two families together.
The fighting doctors
And speaking of marriage, the two doctors seem to have reached the point of no return. Friends are bemoaning the act that nothing more can be done to save the union. She is tired of explaining away the black eye to work colleagues.
Trinis sorry
My Trini girlfriends who live here are sorry to see the bickering between Jamaica and Trinidad. They see as unfortunate the deportation of 13 Jamaicans, as well as the calls for a boycott of Trinidadian goods. The two Caribbean islands need each other now more than ever.
Question of the week
Shouldn’t T&T PM Persad-Bissessar have waited until after the exploratory meeting between Mr A J Nicholson and his Trinidadian counterpart before taking a position on the deportations?
