SINGERS Tony Rebel and Queen Ifrica added their voices and gave their approval to the Jamaica Coalition for a Healthy Society.

Their endorsements came at Wednesday’s launch of a DVD — Sex, Lies and Rights — a Seduction of Medicine, Law and Politics, which aims to counter what the Colition says is an “agressive promotion of various sexual rights, while simultaneously curtailing fundamental rights and freedoms.”

The DVD addresses the dangers of repealing or amending Sections 76, 77 and 79 of the Offences Against the Person Act (Buggery Law).

Speaking to The Jamaica Observer following the launch at Palace Cineplex in Liguanea, St Andrew, Tony Rebel noted: “I will always take a stand on these matters because it is my right. I will not fall to bullying. Like Bob Marley and Peter Tosh encouraged us in their music, we must get up and stand up for what we believe in, in order to save our families and country.”

The sentiment was echoed by Queen Ifrica, who was criticised for her comments at the Grand Gala inside the National Stadium on August 6, regarding efforts to repeal the

Buggery Law.

“It’s about being human and just expressing what we believe is our right. I just love what I see here this evening,” she said.

The ‘Coalition’ has produced 200 copies of the DVD and hopes to distribute them to like-minded groups throughout Jamaica, the Caribbean, Singapore, Russia and Africa.
