Mailpac takes aim at bigger share of consumer market
MAILPAC Services, the largest online shopping company in Jamaica, will next week launch a “store” aimed at procuring a greater share of the wider local consumer market.
Details are still unclear, but Mailpac last week took out full-page newspaper advertisements promoting that “The World’s Greatest Store Comes to Jamaica” on November 29. Mailpac principal Khary Robinson refused to give details until next week but revealed that the overall goal of the project is to lure more customers towards the online shopping space.
“It should be noted that, despite the fact that Mailpac accounts for 80 per cent of all online shopping in Jamaica, we are only actively serving four per cent of what we consider to be the broad market of shoppers — over one million consumers,” Robinson told the Business Observer yesterday.
“Therefore, we need to fix a number of things so that people in Jamaica have access to the same options as global consumers – greater selections and better prices,” he stated.
