MoBay vs Waterhouse highlights cropped RSPL schedule
WITH several players on national duty with the Reggae Boyz in Trinidad and Tobago (T&T), some clubs have requested the postponement of their Red Stripe Premier League fixtures, hence only two games are on today.
Leaders Montego Bay United take on title favourites Waterhouse FC at Drewsland starting at 5:00 pm with August Town hosting Tivoli Gardens at 3:00 pm at the UWI Bowl.
There will be two more games on Monday with Boys’ Town tackling Arnett Gardens at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex in the Trench Town derby, while Humble Lion take on Sporting Central Academy in the Clarendon derby at Effortville Community Centre. Both games are scheduled for 7:00 pm.
The matches between Cavalier/Harbour View and Portmore United/Rivoli United have been rescheduled for Wednesday, November 27.
With their talisman Jermaine ‘Tuffy’ Anderson leading Jamaica’s charge against T&T on Tuesday, Waterhouse will have a huge void to fill and could find it difficult against the hard-running and talented Montego Bay United to secure yet another win.
The St James outfit will be without their influential captain Jermaine Woozencroft, also on national duty, but should still prove too strong for Waterhouse.
The Donovan Duckie-coached Montego Bay United are on top with 13 points, three ahead of Waterhouse down in sixth spot on 10 points.
Meanwhile, seventh-place August Town and eighth-place Tivoli Gardens, both on 10 points, know a win could leapfrog them closer to the top.
The Max Straw-led promoted August Town have surprised most people and only last week lost their unbeaten run and could return to winning ways.
With a nice blend of veterans and young players, August Town are proving that they belong in the league.
Tivoli Gardens, on the other hand, will have to do without creative playmaker Kaemmar Daley, who strained his groin with the Reggae Boyz squad. But with depth in their squad, Tivoli should find ample replacement as they look to secure their third win from eight matches.
