Heineken adds flavour to Portland
HEINEKEN’S 40th anniversary weekend party held at the Trident Hotel and Villas in Portland, has been hailed a success.
Nasha Douglas, Heineken brand manager, said the rustic parish was the ideal location for such an momentous occasion.
“We are kicking off our Christmas season with this beautiful stylish event at Trident Hotel as only Heineken knows how to do it. This brings out all the qualities the brand possess; its stylish, sexy, and a perfect
harmony and unity,” she told the Jamaica Observer.
Saturday’s session saw DJ Smoke, Kamal Bankay, and American guest DJ Richard Buynone providing the evening’s musical delights for the much-aprreciative patrons.
Jon Baker, music industry executive and co-owner of Geejam recording studio, was pleased the rustic parish was selected for such an occasion.
“Heineken has always had parties in Ochi Rios, Montego Bay and Negril and we have a great venue here. It’s a visionary thought by Heineken to have it here at the Trident and they are having a great time. I do hope that this will happen again and more than once a year. Having the internal DJ here and we have had a number of international celebrities milling around the place. It’s a great affair,”
he said.
The sound system was on both sides of the pool which had a stage over it. The ocean provided the backdrop. DJ Smoke kicked off the evening with mixing a number of selections.
Friday’s staging saw patrons braving the showers and dancing up a storm to the light of a bonfire.
Imru James, assistant brand manager, was on hand.
“This is just a part of what the Heineken family can do. The setting and the production is great. Portland is a great place and the ambience; twinning with the Trident for this great event will only help the tourism and economy of the parish” he said.
