Insane Bolt takes Juvenile as Uppa Tune dominate foreigners
Insane Bolt ran out an easy winner of the CTL Juvenile Sprint, moving away from rivals in the straight to win by over three lengths in a smart 1:20.3 minutes for the 1,300 metres event yesterday at Caymanas Park.
Dick Cardenas, the regular rider of Insane Bolt, simply held back the Shuffling Maddnes – Golden Olympio bay gelding off the pace before asking him to run in the straight. Insane Bolt responded by going farther and farther away.
The win by Insane Bolt provided trainer Wayne DaCosta with his second win in this race, having scored in 2007 with Mr Skill.
In the TALAWAH Imported Mile, the free-running Uppa Tune cruised to victory thereby giving trainer Ian Parsard his first win in the event. Ridden by Richard Mitchell, Uppa Tune set off in front and although shortening a bit in the final half furlong, had done enough to secure victory by one-and-a-quarter lengths. Argument Done (Shane Ellis) ran on to grab second from Go Go Yvonne (Shamaree Muir). Uppa Tune completed the mile in a fast 1:37:3 minutes.
Uppa Tune, who is owned by PJK team, was winning his third race for the season and seventh overall with earnings just over $4 million.
