The Queen’s hunt second win in Urban Area netball
DEFENDING junior and senior league champions, The Queen’s High will go in search of their second win against St Jago High as the 2013 ISSA/Digicel Urban Area High School netball competitions continue today at the Leila Robinson Courts.
Action in the second round of matches is scheduled to begin at 1:45 pm.
The Queen’s juniors will take on St Jago at 2:30 pm, while the seniors go up against St Jago an hour later.
Queen’s coach Marvette Anderson said despite losing three of her shooters — Shanice Beckford, Khadijah Williams and Shamera Sterling — who are currently on national duties with the senior Sunshine Girls team in the Fast5 Netball World Series in New Zealand, she has good replacements to fill those positions.
“The second round encounters were a good start for Queen’s as the real competition and the better teams are all playing and more challenges will be there for our players. I will take each game seriously as I won’t be taking any team lightly,” said Anderson.
Meanwhile, the Dalton Hinds-coached Gaynstead will also be hunting their second straight win in this round as they have already beaten St Catherine High 26-18 in the Junior League. The Gaynstead aggregation, who is still unbeaten, will meet Camperdown High at 1:45 pm.
