Where Is Deputy Leader James Robertson?
Dear Editor,
Where is Deputy Leader James Robertson? We ask this question not out of disrespect for the JLP deputy leader and member of Parliament for St Thomas Western, but out of concern.
His absence from the Andrew Holness platform, in Holness’s bid to be returned as leader, and no utterances whatsoever from him, for someone who has always backed Holness, seems deafening. We must investigate.
1. They were together in the Young Leaders Council and were the only two of that group to reach Member of Parliament.
2. They knocked heads and formed, in part, Generation 2000 at a time when the party needed such an organisation to take it out of the political doldrums.
3. Deputy Leader Robertson’s impact and influence in the JLP Area Council 2 on some 1,520 or 30% of the total delegate vote is considerable, regardless of the self-seekers and soothsayers promising that which, it is obvious by now, they cannot deliver.
4. Is it the case that there has been political fallout, not known to many, between Holness and Robertson?
5. And if conflict is present, why has Holness not quickly mended the fences and embraced James Robertson?
One wonders if Holness’s arrogance and overt hubris on this matter could cause him to lose the leadership race on November 10, 2013?
We will wait and see, as the JLP delegates, of Kingston 6 and 8 especially, want to know what has happened to their beloved “son” James.
