LIME Cup tees off weekend
The harvesting of over 120 golfers comprising six teams will compete for the 2013 LIME Cup over three of Jamaica’s finest courses beginning this weekend at the Constant Spring Golf Club.
Each team is made up of 16 male players, in four handicap flights, and four female players vying for top honours via a match play format that will broadcast into 23 countries on SportsMax and into North America on Ceen.
Participants this year will include Jamaica’s national team captain, Sean Morris as well as national representatives Mark Newnham, Radcliffe Knibbs, Jodi Barrow, Rochelle Princes and Michelle Gabay. Also lined up for action will be national junior representatives Kai Harris and Tiana Cruz.
The 2013 tournament that is slated to tee off this Sunday with rounds one and two, which was launched at the Audi Showroom on Wednesday under the theme ‘Take 5’. This is recognition of the fifth year of the tournament.
At the launch, SportsMax made a special presentation to LIME for their unwavering support for golf in Jamaica and as a title sponsor of the tournament over the last four years.
Edward Gabbidon, vice-president of corporate sales at LIME, received the gift on behalf of his company.
Title sponsors LIME and event founder SportsMax, will celebrate five years of partnership for the most anticipated and competitive tournament on Jamaica’s golfing calendar. Striving for greater diversity and exposure this year, the partnership will include Red Stripe’s Learning For Life Charity as a major sponsor.
To heighten the event’s launch, there was a video presentation of Lime Cup 2013 ‘Take 5’ by SportsMax.
Earlier team jerseys were presented to team captains.
