Under The Dryer: PIXIE DUST
We’re sworn to secrecy as to the reason behind the ‘chop’, but let’s just say that Heineken Brand Manager Nasha-Monique Douglas was spotted at the Scandal premiere Thursday last, with her usual coif and then Saturday with a brand new look, dazzling all as she stepped into Odyssey, the wrap party for the Heineken Inspire competition.
Using mostly products from the Creme of Nature line, hairstylist Lisa McIntosh-Aris walks us through how she achieved Nasha-Monique Douglas’s pixie cut:
1 – Section the hair and cut around the perimeter of the head to frame the face and to remove the majority of bulk and length.
2 – Create short, jagged layers in the hair using scissors and a razor for more defined edges
3 – Apply a 20 volume peroxide solution to desired strands or sections and let sit for under 10 minutes. Then rinse hair with neutralising shampoo when desired shade has been achieved to neutralise the colouring process.
4 – Shampoo hair, then apply the protein conditioning treament and let sit for 5-10 minutes to lock in moisture.
5 – Apply the leave-in conditioner to balance the hair.
6 – Follow up with the foaming wrap lotion for hold and a little of the polisher as a heatprotectant.
7 – Sit under the hair dryer for 35-40 minutes.
8 – Check that the hair is completely dry, then reapply the polisher to soften the hair, and do a comb-through or use fingers to enhance texture and volume in the crown. Spray with the sheen spray to finish the look.
And the feedback…
“I personally feel a lot more edgy… indeed I’ve stepped out of my comfort zone. The response from my colleagues and friends have been overwhelmingly positive too. Nasha our Under The Dryer team gives you two thumbs up too!HOUSE OF NEAHLIS
