Jockey Dettori’s season over after fall from horse
NOTTINGHAM, England (AP) — Jockey Frankie Dettori has been ruled out for the rest of the season after breaking his angle in a fall at Nottingham on Wednesday.
He had planned to ride Treve in Sunday’s Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.
The Italian broke his right ankle after being unseated from Eland Ally before a race.
Peter Burrell, Dettori’s business manager, says “it’s an extremely painful injury. Sunday is out – as is the season.”
Treve is a 4-1 shot for the Arc at Longchamp with some bookmakers.
