UTech Golf Classics on today
THE University of Technology, Jamaica (UTech) will stage the UTech Golf Classics, Corporate and Celebrity Tournament today at the Caymanas Golf and Country Club.
This year’s tournament will feature an 18-Hole Stroke Play and Stable Ford Championship event to include 100 participants from corporate teams, students, alumni, juniors, male and female individual categories and special celebrities.
Special highlights of the tournament will be featured during the prize-giving ceremony to include the formal renewal of the university’s MOU partnership agreement between the university’s golf programme and the Caymanas Golf and Country Club as a facility of training students for championship golf tournaments.
The tournament will also feature other sports celebrity personalities such as World and University Games gold medallist, Carrie Russell, UTech’s top golfing star Rochelle Prince, legendary cricketers Ambassador Courtney Walsh, and Maurice Foster.
The event has also attracted great prizes from corporate entities affiliated with the university such as weekend stays from the hotel industry partners, Hilton Montego Bay Rose Hall, Courtleigh Hotel and Suites, the Spanish Court Hotel, brunch for two, and other exquisite prizes of gift packages will come from the University of Technology, Silverstar Mercedes Benz, Hy-Lite as rehydration partner, Wisynco, Lime Jamaica Ltd and several gift certificates courtesy of Cuddyz Restaurant.
The event is scheduled to kick off at 8:30 am for a shotgun start by the university team followed immediately by prize presentation awards at 1:00 pm.
