The Duchess of Cambridge attends first red carpet event since birth of Prince George
The Duchess of Cambridge attended her first red carpet event since becoming a mother this evening.
Thirty-one-year-old Kate beamed as she accompanied husband William to the Tusk foundation gala dinner at The Royal Society in London.
She wore a glittering floor-length Jenny Packham dress covered in sequins with her brunette hair carefully curled over her shoulders and simple, pretty make-up.
The form-fitting dress featured flattering cap sleeves and Kate finished the look with sparkling stiletto heels and diamond jewellery.
William, who wore smart black tie, is a patron of the Tusk charity, and was expected to make a speech at the end of the awards ceremony which was hosted by journalist Kate Silverton.
Thursday’s awards aimed to celebrate outstanding achievement in the field of African conservation, recognising the achievements of individuals who are ensuring the future of Africa and bringing the challenges faced by the continent to a global audience.

Mary-Kate and Ashley take their muse on safari with eclectic sepia-toned The Row collection
For their spring 2014 The Row collection, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen took their inspiration from faraway places, showcasing an eclectic mix of luxe fabrics, African-inspired prints and safari-style accessories.
At the twins’ New York Fashion Week show, which was held in an intimate SoHo space on Monday, models channelled nomadic chic in long, sepia-toned layers, with intricate, couture-like details.
Most notable were the headpieces that topped off the looks, including a long orange headscarf, wide-brimmed visors and the Olsens’ high-fashion take on the beekeeper hat, featuring a black lace veil.
Sepia hues featured heavily on the runway; one such look consisted of a burnt orange chiffon skirt worn below the knee, and a beaded top in the same colour, embroidered with a leafy pattern.
The ensemble was worn with a brown cross-body shoulder bag and brown and cream patent leather loafers.
Two years ago, the twins, who declined to be photographed at the event, won the CFDA prize in womenswear for their distinctive designs, and this new collection continued their aesthetic.

Flagging up her new look
She spends her days travelling around the world performing, so Rihanna has no doubt become accustomed to the various flags there are.
And showing her geography knowledge Rihanna stepped out in London wearing a pair of baggy trousers and top adorned with flags from around the world.
Looking in as bright spirits as her outfit, the 25-year-old put on quite the show while leaving her hotel on Wednesday evening – giving Miley Cyrus a run for her money in terms of sticking out her tongue.
In keeping with her latest rock ‘n’ roll-inspired look (a ‘fauxhawk’), she pulled a rude-looking gesture with her clutch bag, which featured a gold penis on it, as she strutted out.
The heavily made-up star seemed keen to give her fans one final show before catching a flight home, and her comfy-looking outfit and cheeky bag certainly did just that.
