Jamaica smashes National record to win women’s 4×100 relay
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaica scorched the track in a national record 41.29 to win the women’s 4×100 relay the penultimate event at the 14th World Championship in Moscow Russia Sunday morning.
Anchor Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, way ahead of the field, was followed over the line by France in 42.73, while the US pulled off an unexpected 42.75 third.
The Jamaican team was Carrie Russell, who handed to Kerron Stewart, Schillonie Calvert to Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce.
