Jamaica into women’s sprint relay final as 14th World Champs ends
KINGSTON, Jamaica – As the 14th World Championships come to a close today in Moscow Russia Jamaica’s sprint relay teams are seeking to increase the island’s medal tally from the seven up to Day 8.
First up, Jamaica’s women team (41.88) won Heat 1 of the qualifiers and are into the finals. Second was France in 42.25.
In the second of three heats Bahamas won in 42.72 from Great Britain (42.75) but were disqualified leaving Canada (42.99) to take second spot.
Favourite USA (41.82) won the third heat with Brazil (42.29) second.
The first two finishers in each heat along with the two fastest losers qualify for the final scheduled for 9:10am.
The final line-up is Jamaica, USA, France, Great Britain, Canada, Brazil, Russia and Trinidad.
